Hot Water Cylinders

Hot Water Cylinders the QuickServe way

No hot water, a leaking cylinder, or an old tank that’s seen better days? We repair and replace hot water cylinders, and fit new ones.

We work on both vented cylinders, fed from a cold water tank in the loft, and unvented cylinders, which run straight off the mains. Unvented cylinders need an engineer with the right qualification, and QS Plumbing is G3 unvented qualified.

We’ll find what’s wrong, explain it in plain English, and tell you whether a repair or a replacement makes more sense. If your hot water comes from your boiler, our Boiler Repairs team can check that side too.

“So impressed with this company. Had an issue with my boiler and they came out to look at it next day. Ended up needing a replacement due to age of boiler which was arranged quickly at a reasonable price, and the guys that came to install got on with the job with no fuss. Communication throughout was perfect with email appointment reminders and proper quotes and invoices. They registered the new boiler warranty for me and it was possible to pay by credit card which was appreciated for a big amount. Will definitely be a repeat customer.”

Hot Water Cylinders: your questions answered

What’s the difference between a vented and an unvented cylinder?

A vented cylinder is fed from a cold water tank, usually in the loft. An unvented cylinder runs straight off the mains water supply, so it usually gives better pressure but must be fitted and worked on by a G3 qualified engineer.

Do you work on unvented cylinders?

Yes. QS Plumbing is G3 unvented qualified, so we can install and repair unvented hot water cylinders.

My hot water cylinder is leaking. What should I do?

Turn off the water supply and switch off the immersion heater if you have one. Then call us or send a photo on WhatsApp and we’ll get you booked in.

Should I repair or replace my cylinder?

It depends on the age of the cylinder and what’s wrong with it. We’ll explain what we’ve found and give you both options.

How much does a new hot water cylinder cost?

It depends on the cylinder and the work involved, so we quote each job. Call 0161 826 6000, WhatsApp us or use our quote form.
